This is a full-fledged American-style restaurant that also does catering on a daily basis. Quality meats, salads and six home-made soups every day. I think everything they sell is made on the premises, even the fruit smoothies, with the possible exception of the Italian soft ice creams (I can't remember the actual name of them, but they're melt-in-your-mouth good!). I try to eat there at least once a week and seem to wind up with either the patty melt, tuna melt, or the roast beef sandwich for lunch. The bakery sweets are both traditional and different, from the chocolate chunk cookies to the chocolate-chip pecan bars and chocolate cheesecake (is there a pattern here?) If you want to be sure you don't run over your lunch hour (they're always swamped for lunch), call ahead and they'll have your lunch ready when you get there. They also have a drive-thru pickup window for phone orders. I think they're open til 6 p.m. in the summer, later during the tourist season. It'll take several trips to find a favorite menu item, but you'll probably like everything you try. Highly recommended, but be prepared for a wait if you can't get there before 1145 a.m. for lunch.
